Shipping companies collectively raise prices from September, with the highest increase reaching $1600 per container

According to the latest news, as a critical time point in the international container shipping market approaches September 1st, major shipping companies have begun to issue notices of freight price increases. Other shipping companies that have not yet announced are also eager to take action. It is reported that the current wave of price increases ranges from as little as $150/TEu to as much as $1600/FCL.

Maersk announced yesterday that it will introduce a new peak season surcharge (PSS) for goods shipped from the Asia Pacific region, including China, to the Middle East. It is reported that the PSS will be increased from September 10th, with a unified increase of USD700 per container for all 20 foot and 40 foot container types;

It is reported that the above-mentioned ports of origin include Brunei, mainland China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and South Korea. Destination ports in the Middle East include the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia

Maersk announced that from September 5th and September 23rd, a peak season surcharge will be imposed on all goods destined for French Polynesia. The specific increase arrangements are as follows: the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the American Virgin Islands, Colombia and Taiwan, China of China to French Polynesia will levy an additional USD800/1600 peak season surcharge from September 23

Except for the above-mentioned countries or regions, goods from other ports of origin bound for French Polynesia will be subject to a peak season surcharge starting from September 5th, with a magnitude of USD800/1600
